The Italian supply chain has formed a system. Made in Italy excellences such as Tintoria Emiliana along with Brugnoli, Canclini 1925, Clerici Tessuto, Bellandi, Linificio & Canapificio Nazionale, Tintoria Crespi and the manufacturing companies Logo Firenze, ITT and Carlo Di Paola have collaborated to demonstrate how the excellence of Italian fashion industry invests in sustainability. Showcasing to the market high-added value products with low environmental impact.
Leading the project is Tintoria Emiliana, a revolutionary Italian garment dying factory, which uses SBP for measuring the impact of its company and its wet processes. They have collaborated with five Italian textile companies to measure the impact of the fabrics, which are then garment dyed at the end of processing to provide their clients with real data on the environmental impacts of the products, then assembled by Logo Firenze, ITT and Carlo Di Paola.
The data has been consolidated into five different Product LCAs attesting to the products impact and the production phases involved. This information is digitally accessible through the Product iD Card, a tool that supports not only the Digital Product Passport but also enables partner companies to use the data for Ecodesign.
Monitoring owned environmental performances allows companies to optimize operations, reduce costs and foster a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability.
By integrating data analysis into the production process, companies can achieve significant improvements in efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness, ultimately leading to a more competitive and sustainable manufacturing operation.
Organizations can ensure that environmental KPIs are shared effectively and efficiently, safeguarding sensitive data. This not only enhances transparency and trust but also supports the collective effort towards achieving sustainability goals.
Brands face pressure to enhance transparency and accountability due to the Digital Product Passport regulation. The proactiviness of a virtuous supply chain on data collection and sustainability actions help brands to be easier compliant with such regulations.
Brands have started to move towards the design of low-impact products due to law requirements or own initiative. By leveraging your material impact data you can provide them with the solution they are looking for and gain returns on your sustainability efforts.
Brands need to invest in low impact supply chains. Gaining in-depth knowledge of your environmental hotspot can be a valuable asset to drive company investments and brand procurement choices increasing their ROSI (return on sustainable investments).
